Gym owner Bob Bonham and co-promoter Ken Kassel promoted many contests during the 1980s and 1990s and their Strength Contests were among their most interesting as the shows featured women competing against each other in several lifts to see who was the strongest pound for pound. This 1997 event featured 10 top name bodybuilding women who competed against each other for four different lifts to see who was the strongest pound for pound. We had two video cameras and using them resulted in great and sharp video work. The following women were invited to compete including Kathy Connors, Dawn Whitham, Denise Girard, Vickie Walker-Shay, Annie Rivieccio, Amy Pazzo, Gayle Moher, Christi Wolf, Lisa Smith and each woman was introduced before they did their lifts which included chin-ups, squats, curls and bench presses and the women lifted weights as a percentage of their body weight to then be able to determine who was the strongest pound for pound. In addition, top women Tazzie Colomb and Christa Bauch, who were in very good off-season shape guest posed. The camera footage was very interesting as you get to watch ten top women compete against each other to see who wins and all the results are shown and the women are introduced after each placement for this WPW Video 313.
