This WPW Video 623 was taped in December 2004, a couple days before XMas, and you read the following correctly, it was after a 10 year absence from competing and our last video with her. Meral Ertunc was a very top bodybuilder in the early 1990s but after a bout with a certain injury (which she explains in her interview) she had to retire from the competitions. When she recovered she came back on the scene as a Fitness contestant. But don't let that mislead you as she was 42 years of age here and still had a well developed body, particularly her upper body. So, at 5'2" 120 pounds here, she still showed good muscle size and hardness though not quite as chiseled as she was in the earlier videos we did with her. She leads off this video with posing in a bikini, then 3 mini- dresses and at age 42 she is very good looking and one could mistake her for being in her early 20s. Meral was one of the few Turkish-American women who competed and for all of our tapings lived in northern Virginia, though she had recently moved to Florida. This new footage runs about 80 minutes so to fill out the video we added our very first footage with her from 1991 which is on WPW Video 229, but there are other women on that video as well as on WPW 205 and 215, which Meral was also included in. In the older footage she again poses in her different outfits and is interviewed. This earliest footage was taken at the time of the 1991 Junior Nationals. We say the following often, but Meral was one of the most beautiful women to compete in both bodybuilding and figure, with a perfectly shaped muscular physique, period!!
